Our Story
Alan Moyer, the founder of Tumbleweed Woodworks, started woodworking as a boy in Oregon with his father. Originally as a hobby, Alan began selling handcrafted wooden toys at the Saturday Market in Eugene, Oregon during the 1970's, and eventually decided to make his hobby a career.
In Bend, Oregon, Alan set up a wood shop overlooking the Three Sisters mountains, which you can still see in Tumbleweed's logo. In that shop, he hired Tumbleweed's first employees, and the company began to turn out puzzles, spice racks, and a variety of wooden toys.
Today, Tumbleweed Woodworks sells woodcrafts all over the United States and Canada. Tumbleweed's products are still produced by hand in Western Oregon by Alan and a small team of artisans dedicated to the beauty and uniqueness of each and every piece.
We hope you'll become part of Tumbleweed's fine tradition of hand-crafted works in wood.
